    1995年のアマゾンおよびマヤへの旅で目撃した「うっそうとしたジャングルと原色の鳥たち」のスケッチや強烈な記憶を基に、生命感豊かに舞う鮮やかな金剛いんこを描いた、堀文子画伯の作品です。

    背景の深い青緑色と、いんこの赤・黄色のコントラストが非常に美しく、洗練された空間を演出します。旅での原体験から生み出された本作は、1995年、もしくはその旅を終えた1990年代後半に制作されたものです。

    This is a work by the esteemed master painter Fumi Horike, depicting vibrant macaws dancing with a strong sense of life, inspired by the sketches and intense memories of the "dense jungle and primary-colored birds" she witnessed during her journey to the Amazon and Maya in 1995.

    The striking contrast between the deep bluish-green background and the brilliant reds and yellows of the macaws is exceptionally beautiful, creating a sophisticated and refined atmosphere. Born from her profound firsthand experience, this piece was created in 1995 or the late 1990s following her expedition.

堀 文子（ほり ふみこ）　プロフィール

1918年：東京都麹町に生まれる
1940年：女子美術専門学校（現・女子美術大学）師範科日本画部を卒業
1952年：第2回上村松園賞を受賞
1961年：初の海外旅行へ出発し、エジプト、ヨーロッパ、メキシコなどを巡る（〜1964年）
1972年：絵本『くるみ割り人形』がイタリア・ボローニャ国際絵本原画展グラフィック賞を受賞
1974年：創画会の結成に参画（1999年退会）。多摩美術大学日本画科教授に就任（〜1999年）
1987年：イタリア・アレッツォ郊外にアトリエを構え、日本と往来しながら制作
2000年：82歳でヒマラヤ山脈の高地を踏破し、幻の花「ブルーポピー」を取材
2011年：女子美術大学より名誉博士号を授与される
2019年：2月5日、100歳で逝去
